Why is Liver Health Important? The liver is the body's second largest organ, and one of its main jobs is to get rid of potentially hazardous chemicals. Our liver does so much more than just digest food, produce bile, and aid blood sugar regulation. It extracts nutrients from the food, converting them into forms that the body can use. This is crucial because even if one consumes a good diet, without a healthy liver, the body cannot make full use of the nutrients consumed. Liver disease or injury greatly impairs this process, which can lead to malnutrition. Some of us may be unfamiliar with the term "bile," but we all know that this yellowish fluid which is created by the liver is crucial in aiding in the digestion of cholesterol and
